I like baseball cards

I know what you're thinking.  "Yeah.  And?"

I can't help but wander the card aisle if I'm the bullseye store, or WallyWorld.  Even if I'm there for legitimate shopping purposes, I want to buy cards.  I think I do a pretty good job of limiting myself to reasonable card buying.

The other day I popped on a rack pack of Heritage.  I know I've said I only collect base and Angels, but what can I say?  I like this year's Heritage.

This is the fourth pack I've gotten I think.  This is the first pack without a SP, but I did get this:

I'm typically not a big fan of inserts, but this one goes into my Nolan PC.  So that works for me.

Here's the lowlight for me:

Thanks for pointing out Angel futility Topps.  For what it's worth, the two runners were a Howie Kendrick single and a Chris Iannetta double.

5 walks in 255 batters?  Wow.

Boshers was 25 and Shoemaker was 26 last year.  But I think Topps has put 30 year olds on these cards back in the 1980ish period.   So I guess that's not bad.  At any rate, I still dig Angels on cardboard.

12/2/13

I pulled this card out of a pack of Heritage:

On the back is a mention of his brother Jemile:

Jemile was traded from Oakland to Baltimore on December 2, 2013.

I also pulled this card from the pack:

which on the back

clearly references his move from Baltimore.  He was traded to Oakland.for Jemile Weeks.

Which is it Topps?  Trade? or No Trade?

Déjà vu all over again

So after debating whether to buy more Heritage, I did.  And just like the first rack pack, my second was all base cards, no inserts and one SP.

This was the SP in my first pack:

This was the SP in my second pack:

Yup, the only duplicate I've gotten in two packs is the SP.  Any Giant fans out there?  Wait, isn't there someone out there chasing SPs?

Poor Paul. and Justin, and Hunter

I bought a rack pack of Heritage last week.  Really like these cards.

Got one of the league leader cards.  It clearly tells us that Pedro Alvarez led the league in homers, followed by Paul Goldschmidt, Jay Bruce, and Dominic Brown.

Wait, what?

Uhhh, shouldn't Alvarez and Goldschmidt shared the top row?  And shouldn't Justin Upton and Hunter Pence been included in the second row?  At the very least, I think Goldschmidt got jobbed.

Moving on.  I do really like these cards. Nice thick card stock.  Great design (who doesn't love '65?  Anyone?  Bueller?)  I got all base cards, with one short print.  I kinda like getting less inserts.  When there's a ton of inserts that I don't really like, I feel sorta cheated.  The collector side of my brain is like "Buy more!  Do it!".  The other side of my brain is all "Dude - short prints" and "Dude - $6 for 20 cards?  Base cards are $5 for 36" (My other side is a surfer dude, although I've never surfed).  I don't know what I wanna do yet.
